Karolina Morawska (b. 1993) is a Project Assistant in ELITES project. She completed her PhD studies at the Faculty of Culture and Arts of the University of Warsaw (PhD thesis regarding sexuality in medieval Poland defended in October 2022). She graduated in history at the Department of History of the University of Warsaw (MA in 2016) and in American studies at the American Studies Center of the University of Warsaw (MA in 2018).

In 2017 – 2019 she was a research assistant in the project Cruising the Seventies: Unearthing Pre-HIV/AIDS Queer Sexual Cultures (CRUSEV), financed by the Humanities in the European Research Area (HERA) under HERA’s ‘Uses of the Past’ theme. The project explored LGBTQ social and sexual cultures of the 1970s and their significance for LGBTQ people accross Europe. As a CRUSEV team member, Morawska published articles and co-edited a volume on LGBTQ social and sexual cultures in Poland (1970s and 1980s).

From 2019 she leads the project Development of sexual ethics in Poland from the 11th to the 13th century under the influence of the Western European Christianization patterns, financed by the National Science Centre in Poland under the PRELUDIUM 15 call.

As the ELITES project assistant she supports the PI in cooperation with external service providers, organization of the events, coordination of the work on publications, as well as running the project website and social media profiles.
