Kacper Bylinka (b. 1997) is a PhD student at the Doctoral School of Humanities of the University of Warsaw.
He graduated in history at the Faculty of History of the University of Warsaw, with MA thesis „Human, family, community. The world of De vita sua by Guibert of Nogent” in 2021. Bylinka prepares a PhD thesis on constructing elites’ identity through the cult of saints on the peripheries of medieval Europe (supervisor: prof. Grzegorz Pac).
His research interests include hagiography, cult of saints, creation of identity in the Middle Ages and the narrative of historical sources.
As a member of the ELITES team, he focuses on the cult of saints in the context of creating the elites’ identity in Poland and Norway, with particular emphasis on the comparison of the cults of St. Olaf and St. Adalbert-Vojtěch.
