Research Assistant at the Faculty of History of the University of Warsaw. Professor at the Center of Medieval Archaeology of the Baltic States (Institute for Archaeology and Ethnology of the Polish Academy of Sciences, Szczecin).
MA studies (1999) and PhD in archaeology at the Nicolaus Copernicus University in Toruń (2005, supervisor: Prof. Wojciech Chudziak).
Janowski works at the Institute for Archaeology and Ethnology of the Polish Academy of Sciences since 2006, he is also associate professor at the University of Szczecin.
His research interests include settlement transformations, funeral rites and fortifications.
Janowski is author of over 170 publications that present and analyze archaeological sources and sites in Pomerania. His most important publications include:
