We're looking for a doctoral candidate contributing to the project “Symbolic Resources and Political Structures on the Periphery: Legitimization of the Elites in Poland and Norway, c. 1000-1300"

Scope of work in the project:

  • Research in the field of history on the topic of the legitimization of the elites in Norway and Poland, 1000 – 1300 (including the cult of saints);
  • Publication of articles as a fruit of the research conducted in the project;
  • Presentation of the research results on conferences or workshops;
  • Participation in the edition of publications as a fruit of the research conducted in the project;
  • Participation in the project administration.

 

Expectations:

  • Polish and/or Norwegian (or another Scandinavian language): fluent;
  • English: ability to present the research results and to prepare publications;
  • Latin: ability to read;
  • Proven interest in medieval history;
  • Ability to conduct research within the scope of the project and to communicate its results;
  • Ability and willingness to work in a team, to share the research results, ability to work to deadlines;

Selection criteria (necessary to meet until 1.10.2021)

  • MA in history with a specialization in medieval history;
  • Status of a PhD candidate;
